Glucosamine is found in tendons, ligaments, synovial fluid, muscle membranes and several structures in the eye, blood vessels and heart valves. The inclusion of gelatin enhances the glucosamine spectrum and may increase potency.
MSM is a sulphur bearing amino acid and is converted to an important component of connective tissue. Lysine is another amino acid that when hydroxylated by Vitamin C, is extremely important in the structure of cartilage tissue and protein synthesis.
Vitamin C is an essential element for the formulation of the hydroxyl groups needed in cartliage synthesis. Vitamin C deficiency may result in reduced production of collagen- the protein based structure in tendons and ligaments.
Zinc Amino is required by over 70 different enzymes to function. In this instance Zinc is used in the hydrolysis and cross linking needed for collagen formation. The Citrus Bioflavenoid Hesperidin in
ProFlex acts as an anti-oxidant protection to mitigate free radical activity, which occurs as a result of cartilage degradation.

Proflex trial on injured MareBy: Sue on 12 May 2015It is too early to know whether this product is going to do what is claims as I have only just started to feed it to my mare after a bad injury to her knee. She tore the ligaments from the bone and had surgery to remove bone chips. I am hoping that by feeding her "Proflex" it will prevent her from developing arthritis. It has all the right ingredients to make it a great product which should work.
