Riders can now select any of three preset stirrup positions: traditional, 45 degrees or 90 degrees. You can customize your stirrups to the setting that best suits you, your horse and your riding application. This Feature is a First in Modern Stirrup Technology! The preset angle improves leg, calf and foot position, relieves pressure on hips, knees and ankles, as well as reducing leg burns. Stirrup measurements are taken from the inside branch of the stirrup across the tread to the other inside branch. Stirrups that are too small are more difficult to retrieve and may not release your foot easily during a fall.

MDC Stirrups™ are true sized. We have taken into account the rubber sleeves and create a true opening of either 4 ¼”, 4 ½”, 4 ¾” or 5” unlike other hinged products whose openings are smaller than advertised. MDC's patented design allows for more escape room from the top of the tread to the top of the inner stirrup arch. Modern stirrups are taller than they are wider. This increased area allows for more ease in escaping a stirrup during a fall than designs with less clearance area.

Love these Sitirrups
By: Kim Balfour on 29 October 2020I have had recent ankle surgery and I bought these stirrups after searching the internet for recommendations for stirrups to help with my recovery and possible ongoing ankle issues. I love them!!!!! Compared to my old standard knife edge irons these place much less pressure on my ankle. They are lovely and stable under my foot, and with the eye set at 90 degrees and the weight of the stirrup they just sit in the right place for my foot. I didn't realise how much pressure is on your ankle in even just positioning a normal stirrup until I had this injury. I highly recommend these stirrups. They might be on the more expensive side, but they are going to last me forever.

I have only ridden in these for a short time but can already recognise the benefits of the rotational head clip and the built in suspension sides. I had to return these stirrups for a smaller size and appreciated the service that I received with a no hassle exchange system.

Super comfortable

My leg feels like it sits a lot better and I seem to be able to stretch down into the stirrup better. I have always had trouble keeping my leg still and my foot always creeps up. Very happy. Thanks also to Deb for helping me with sizes. They fit great.

The best stirrups ever
By: Monique on 13 June 2013I borrowed a pair of these stirrups and after I tried them once I begged and begged her to sell me her stirrups. I was resolved to the notion that riding equalled pain. But after riding in these MDC stirrups, for the first time ever I was pain free. I am so glad Ashbree is stocking these stirrups as I won't ride in anything else now. I would recommend these to everyone.
